Equine-assisted therapy incorporates the relationship between horse, client, riding instructor and counselor to achieve therapeutic goals such as increased confidence and self-esteem, healthy emotional expression and regulation, improved social skills, and overall stress reduction. Even if an individual does not ride, they can still experience the therapeutic benefits of caring for the horse that include grooming, feeding, etc. (Bizub, Joy, & Davidson, 2003). Animal-Assisted therapy is a creative type of therapy involving animals to provide unique opportunities for emotional growth and healing. Experience the therapeutic benefits of interacting with training horses and other animals on a beautiful farm only minutes away! Sessions are scheduled for 1 1/2 hours each. Animal-Assisted therapy can help to build confidence, improve self-esteem, develop healthy boundaries, and increase personal responsibility.
